The Saxmundham & District Community Development Partnership now called The Saxmundham and District Community Interest Company (SADCIC).
“The Saxmundham & District Community Development Partnership Ltd” (SADCDP) was formed in February 2007, after several public meetings. It has a board of directors who represent various community interests but make decisions for the benefit of the whole community. The directors are all unsalaried volunteers. It converted into a Community Interest Company in December 2007.
Partnerships
The creation of local community development companies is actively encouraged by the Government and the SADCDP was formed with the local support of both Saxmundham Town Council and Suffolk Coastal District Council.
Research & Consultation
Throughout 2007 and early 2008 SADCIC will have conducted an audit of local amenities and facilities, and consulted with residents, and other local organisations, on their needs and wants.
The Business (Development) Plan
Once the research and consultation has been completed, a Business Plan with priorities will be drawn up, for action.
The Timeframe
Bidding for funding to deliver the Business Plan will start in 2008 / 2009.
Membership & Participation
Membership of the company is open to any applicant.
Cost of membership was agreed at:-
£5.00 per annum for individual households. Multiple household memberships will not be allowed, although membership can be transferred within the household.
£10.00 for community groups, voluntary groups, clubs and any Public Communities.
£10.00 for businesses.
A limited number of prospective members who are prepared to offer services rather than payment would be considered by the Board for membership on an annual basis.
Membership year is to coincide with the financial year, starting on the 1st March and ending on the 28th/29th February.
Any member who has paid the current year's sub at the old rate will be given an extra year's membership.
