Stage 1 is almost complete.

Details of any future developments for the use of Saxmundham and District population will be published once the initial research and findings are complete.

The directors have finalised funding bids to carry out a two stage community information gathering exercise involving groups and individuals that have an investment, share, or interest in Saxmundham and/or the surrounding district.

Stage 1 will be essentially an audit of what exists now in terms of statistical data on the local population, facilities, resources and organisations – with local people helping to set priority areas for further research. Stage I started in September/October and should finish by the end of December. Please visit our “surveys/polls” page to get a better understanding of the range of possible needs and wants and register your views! Stage 2 will cover more extensive consultation around the priorities established in Stage 1. Stage 2 is scheduled to start in the New Year (2008) and finish by the end of April.

The public (individuals) will be consulted via questionnaire during phase 2, so please be patient. We are also engaging with the local youth and children, meeting with the school council at Saxmundham Middle School and consulting them as to how they would like to be questioned about the future of the Town. We are considering an interactive questionnaire which could involve a maximum of 95 persons voting on one question at a time, or an online questionnaire with the help of Suffolk Acre.
